How do I add Learning Characteristics to the trackers?

Admin Users can add additional columns to all trackers in a year group to track Attitude to Learning, Effort, Home Learning or your own bespoke values.

Admin Users can setup the columns in the Learning Characteristics section on their trackers. To get started click on My School in the top menu and select Learning Characteristics

Choose a value you want to add and either select the tick box for Enable for all Year Groups or the grey Enable for Specific Year Groups button.

You can either choose to use our default descriptors and values, or deselect the tick box to Use default values so you can enter your schools own descriptors or add extra ones.

You will need to add all Learning Characteristic values that you want to track in one go at the start of the year. This is because any changes you make here will affect all trackers for all subjects in the selected Year Groups and is to avoid confusion for users if they change.

If you do need to create additional columns or make changes at a later date, you will need to contact our support team first.

How will they display on the trackers?

The values you add will be added to all trackers in the specified year groups. They will always be in a grey section, next to the Summary section.

How do we record these values at different points in the year?

To keep the trackers simple, we have only one column per Learning Characteristic. After each data or reporting point, you can take a Whole School Snapshot to record the values at each point in the year. The values can then be overwritten or updated at key points in the year.

This means you can then use Snapshot and Compare, both on the subject trackers and in Analysis | Learning Characteristics, to see how they have improved or gone down between any two points.
