How can I add a mixed calculator and non-calculator paper to my Maths tracker?

You may set mini-tests that combine calculator and non-calculator questions that you don't wish to add to a specific past paper. Use the End of Topic Test unit to do this.

The Maths trackers have a unique feature that allows you to add an End of Topic Test that is not linked to a specific Past Paper. This is to support maths departments that combine calculator and non-calculator questions into one End of Topic Test. To do this:

  1. Click the Tools toggle
  2. Click Add EOTT
  3. Select End of Topic Tests from the Unit dropdown.

Adding EOTT to Maths tracker

If you want a more detailed walkthrough, watch the 3 minute video below:

Why is the Current Grade the same as the Average Unit Grade?

Adding in this unit has made some unique changes to Maths trackers for the Current Grade. This grade will now be based on a Scaled Average Mark from all the Past Paper Units and the End of Topic Tests units that have data. If one or more of the units have no marks, then they are ignored in the Scaled Average Unit Total.

This gives a more realistic idea of your students current attainment levels.

How can I make an EoTT count/ not count towards the grade?

You may wish to still show an EoTT on the tracker and reports, but for it not to count.

Go to Edit the EoTT and then deselect the Counting towards the Unit and Summary Grades box.

To make it count again, then go back to Edit and re-tick Counting towards the Unit and Summary Grades box and save the changes.

You will notice that in the Summary section the End of Topic Test column will now be blank, showing that the marks for it are not being included in the Scaled Average Total.

How can I hide an EoTT for a class?

Go to Edit and then scroll down to the classes. Untick the classes that you want to hide the EoTT for and then press Save End of Topic Test.

The data will still be saved, so if you come back and re-select the classes, the EoTTs will be restored along with the data.
