Understanding the changes to component total raw marks and how scaling factors are used in GCSE PE | Edexcel
Edexcel's recent news release (17th June 2022) stated the total raw marks for each paper students will sit from 2023 are changing. Our tracker now reflects these changes.

This is a change from 90 raw marks in paper 1 and 70 marks in paper 2. In both cases the scaled marks for each of the units is unchanged; this means the units still have the same weighting to the overall course.
Scaling Factors
It is rare but some GCSE courses including this PE course use scaling factors to calculate a grade. The course specifications have this clearly stated at the end of the assessment section in the specifications.
