If some of your students have been reallocated to a different class for the same qualification, and Pupil Progress is not integrated with your school's MIS, you can move them across classes easily either from the Year Group Overview or from the student's current class tracker.

  • From their current class:
Click the Tools toggle and then select Move Students from the toolbar

Move students from class

  • Or from the relevant qualification group, click on Open Year Group Overview.

Open YGO

In the overview, click on Tools from the top menu and then click on the Move Students button from the toolbar. You'll now see that next to the students list you have two new columns, indicating the class that each student is sitting and which class you want to move the student into, respectively.

Find the relevant student/s, select the class you want to move them into, and finally click on Save Changes. Your student/s will now be reallocated to the selected class/es.

What if I have a lot of changes?

In order to make editing your class lists faster, we have included a bulk edit function. When you click on the bulk edit button you will be able to copy and paste the names of the classes you wish to move each student to (please ensure that the names of the classes match those in the drop-down list, otherwise the system will not recognise it as a class and will leave it blank). When you're finished, simply click "Exit Bulk Edit" and Save Changes as normal.

Let your data team know what changes you're making to the class lists:

If you need to have a spreadsheet indicating which students have been moved from one class to another, ensure that you download a view of the tracker before clicking on Save Changes. Once you have selected all classes under the Move to column, click on the Download button on the top right corner.
