How to use Forecast

This will not only help you increase the accuracy of your forecasts, but it will also show you how far away students are from their target.

What is a Forecast?

The Live tracking tells you the students current working at grade (i.e. what grade the student would achieve if they were sitting the exam tomorrow).

The forecast is a tracker that is separate from the live tracking system. It is a tool that allows you to manipulate the numbers to see the impact of varying scenarios.

When would I use this tool?

This would be used in a number of scenarios.

  • Target setting - use the tracker to workout the marks needed in each strand of the course for that student to achieve their target grade. Then compare this with the live tracking to see how many marks they are away!

  • Accurate forecast grade - use your teacher judgement to add marks to components that have not been completed yet, or inflate marks on your judgement of how much they will be able to improve by within the time left before the exam
